Konnect and Togetherland, February 19 02/19/2012
Welcome to another wonderful week in KidSong! In Togetherland, your preschoolers will learn to follow Jesus by being good helpers. We will act out the story of the Good Samaritan, and make a craft that will remind us to help others. Be sure to put this in a special place. I know all parents will enjoy the Good Helper coupons, special cards that will give your child practical ways to follow Jesus in servanthood. Our Remember Verse is the same as last week. "A person must continue to follow only the teachings of Christ." 2 John 9 In Konnect, Jonah will learn a big lesson about loving His enemies and following God's plan, and not his own. There will be fish made of paper plates, prophets made of peeps, and an epic game of Go Fish! This week's memory verse is, "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you." Luke 6:27 As always, today in KidSong, all ages will gather in worship and song, dance and prayer as we celebrate our Great Big God! Add Comment Konnect and Togetherland, February 12 02/12/2012
Welcome to another great week in KidSong! Today we're adding a new worship song - stay tuned to the blog for the video! This week in Togetherland, your preschooler will learn to follow Jesus by sharing with others. They'll make paper baskets of sweets to share, have a sensory table of birdseed to take turns sharing, run a Munchkin sharing relay, and hear the story of the man who didn't want to share (Luke 12:13-21). It's a day full of love for others. The Remember Verse for this unit is still "A person must follow only the teachings of Christ" 2 John 9 Konnect kids are going to have a hands-on experience with the miracles of Elisha, as they do an object lesson with floating soda cans, and have a tasty treat that reminds them of Naaman's healing. The memory verse for this week is " No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9 So get your kids up, get some coffee, and get to KidSong. It's going to be a fantastic week! Konnect and Togetherland, Feb. 5th 02/05/2012
Welcome to another great week in KidSong! All kids will be worshipping together as we continue our worship theme "Jesus loves Me!" I hope you've learned the songs and motions by now from your kids! Today in Togetherland, we begin a new unit, learning to Follow Jesus. We will follow Jesus in prayer, sharing, helpfulness, and thankfulness in the next few weeks. This week's lesson is the Lord's Prayer, and we will explore all the times you can pray! Our Remember Verse for this unit is "A person must continue to follow only the teaching of Christ" 2 John 9. Ask your preschooler about their prayer puzzle! Konnect continues with their study of the prophets of God, this week learning about Elijah passing his mantle to Elijah. There will be chariots of fire, overflowing oil jars, and fruit roll-up mantles to make sure this lesson "sticks"! The memory verse this week is "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience." Colossians 3:12 Konnect and Togetherland, January 22 01/22/2012
Good Morning KidSong Parents! I am really excited for what will happen today in KidSong and I can't wait to tell you all about it! We will join together and worship God, with the songs "Jesus You Are My Best Friend", "Yes! Jesus Loves Me" (see the previous posts for videos) and "Yesterday, Today, and Forever" . We'll use our voices, some instruments, and our whole bodies to show how much we love God and how happy we are to celebrate Him today! In Togetherland, we are continuing our unit on Jesus is a Friend, with the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. This is not a story that leaps easily to the mind when thinking about preschoolers, but it shows that Jesus was a friend to someone who was very different from him. Today, they'll learn that they can be friends with all kinds of people who are different, because Jesus showed friendship to the woman at the well. The remember verse is still "Love each other as I have loved you." John 15:12 In Konnect, your elementary kids will see how God was with Elijah; that God fed him in the desert and spoke to him in a still, small voice; that God used him to get the attention of a whole country with a drought that would remind people to look to God as their hope. There will be popcorn tossing, paper crafting, and a stop-and-go game, that will engage all their senses, and that's after the story is told by Legos in our "See It" video! The memory verse this week is Psalm 55:22 “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.” KidSong Worship 01/19/2012
Another great song from KidSong, brought to us by the Go Fish Guys! Konnect and Togetherland, Jan 15. 01/15/2012
Good morning parents! It's chilly out there today and I hope you are bundling up and getting ready for a rockin' morning at KidSong! In Togetherland, we continue our Unit on Jesus and friendship. We get to see that Jesus is a friend to all people, and we too can be friends to everyone! Our Remember Verse is the same as last week "Love each other as I have loved you." John 15:12 In Konnect, we take a whirlwind tour of the Kings of Israel and Judah, focusing on how their relationship with God, or lack thereof, affected their countries. Some were good and some were bad, and we have chances to make good and bad choices as well. We'll see what happens when faith gets "diluted" during snack time, race to hide the baby king Josiah from his wicked queen grandmother, and see how "thumb" kings ended up in the Hall of Shame. Our Memory Verse is 1 Kings 18:21, "How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him..." And as always, we'll have engaging worship where kids of all ages can meet Jesus, and friendship building time where they can show His love to others. I can't wait to begin! Hey Parents! Here is a song we are using in KidSong Sing It! for all ages. We learned it this week as we started Togetherland's Friendship series. Ask your child to demonstrate the actions and praise God together! Konnect and Togetherland, January 8 01/08/2012
Welcome back, parents! I hope you had a joyous Christmas and a peaceful New Year! We enjoyed celebrating Advent with your children, and now we're ready to get back to our regularly scheduled programming! This week in Togetherland, we will begin our unit of Friendship, looking closely at Jesus, our best Friend, and how He showed love to others. Today, we study Mark 10:13-16, Jesus and the children. Jesus was a friend to children, and your children can be friends to others! The memory verse for this unit is John 15:12 "Love each other as I have loved you." ASK - "How did Jesus show love to the children?" "Which friend will you show love to this week?" In Konnect, we pick up where we left off in November, with the division of Israel into two separate kingdoms. We're making tangrams, slicing cheese, and building card houses to find out the secret to unity, which would have kept the kingdom together. The memory verse for this week is Mark 3:25, "If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand." ASK - "Why do you think God let this happen to Israel?" "Which kingdom was North and which was South?" "What do you think will happen with these kings?" We will be having all of KidSong together in the beginning of our service, so we can worship together; make sure your children are there on time so they don't miss out! Advent Week 3 12/11/2011
Hi KidSong Parents! Welcome to Week 3 of Advent! We have been having such a fantastic time celebrating the birth of Jesus! We've been singing carols and ringing jingle bells and playing with Nativity sets of all kinds - plush and action figures and ornaments and lacing cards. Your children are really taking the true Story of Christmas to heart! In Togetherland, kids have been participating in the Christmas story with crafts, drama, and games, and today is no different. They will hear about the shepherds telling everyone the Good News, and make some special crafts to remind everyone that Jesus is the best gift of all! In Konnect today, our special guest is none other than one of the Heavenly Host who appeared to the shepherds to announce the birth of the Savior, who would bring us Peace. Our theme is Peace Breaks Down Walls, and we see how God broke down the barrier of humanity by giving us Jesus, and He broke the walls of sin that separated us by His death. Jesus was "God with us", fully human and fully God, and He gave us peace. We'll explore that concept of peace as we go into the jungle and hear about the Peace Child, the only hope for warring tribes, and the redemptive analogy needed to bring them the Gospel. We'll celebrate it by making angel ornaments, and see how Linus reminds us about peace in the midst of chaos in a Charlie Brown Christmas. Our memory verse is Luke 2:14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace, good will towards men." And don't forget, today we will be filming for our special Christmas Story video for Christmas Eve! If for some reason your child will not be there or does not get a chance to tell part of the story, contact Pastor Becky and we can try to set up an alternative time. Merry Christmas!
